Pollen viability and stigma receptivity of the sterile Lagerstroemia indica
Using 4-year-old sterile and fertile Lagerstroemia indica as the research materials,their seed setting rates were analyzed through hybridization method,and pollen viability were detected by liquid cultivation,stigma receptivity were measured by fluorescent microscopic technology. The results showed that,sterile Lagerstroemia indica’s anthers couldn’ t release pollens and these pollens were aborted. Stigma receptivity was normal,but the seed setting rate was only 4.0%. Sterile character caused by the combination of male sterility and female infertility.
