Optimization of extraction process for tannins from total bract of Chinese chestnut
The involucre of cash crop Chinese chestnut is the main residue of the processing of chestnut industry, which is rich in tannin compounds. In order to effectively improve the utilizing of the total bract resources of chestnuts, the'Tielitou'chestnut variety in Hunan Province was taken as the material. The ultrasonic assisted organic solvent method was used to study the extraction process of total bract tannins. The factors such as concentration of organic extraction agent,solid-liquid ratio, extraction temperature, extraction time and ultrasonic power were designed, and response surface methodology were applied to further optimize the extraction process analysis. The optimal extraction process parameters were obtained ultrasonic power of 425 W,ultrasonic time of 23 minutes and solid-liquid ratio of 1∶47 g·mL-1.Under these conditions, the content of total tannins extracted from chestnuts was 0.101 mg·g-1.This study provided technical support and theoretical basis for the efficient extraction, development and utilization of tannins from the chestnut spiny involucre.
