Monitoring and evaluation of forest quality in state-owned forest farms in Hunan Province
State-owned forest farms in Hunan Province are the main battlefield of forestry ecological construction in Hunan Province,an important origin of high-quality ecological products, and an important carrier of ecological culture dissemination. This study monitored and evaluated the forest quality of state-owned forest farms in Hunan Province from two indicators of forest accumulation per unit area and biomass per unit area, and the monitoring results showed that:there were 216 state-owned forest farms in Hunan Province, with a total area of 715 020.015 7 hm2 of forest land in 2022,and a total forest accumulation of 78 732 331.6 m3,and average unit area of 110.11 m3·hm-2.The forest stock per unit area of state-owned forest farms showed obvious differences in space, and was divided into five grades according to the iso-differential series:65 high grades,92 relatively high grades,45 medium grades,11 relatively low grades, and 3 low grades. The total biomass of the forest was 64 719 565.39 t,the biomass per unit area was 90.51 t·hm-2,and the biomass of state-owned forest farms showed obvious spatial differences. The total number of high grades was 50,relatively high grades was 93,medium grades was 52,relatively low grades was 14,and low grades was 7.In 2022,the highest volume of each dominant tree species(group)per unit area in state-owned forest farms was 156.73 m3·hm-2 for Cunninghamia lanceolata, and the lowest was 2.13 m3·hm-2 for shrubs.
