Supervisor Support Influences the Research Abilities of Postgraduate Students:An Empirical Analysis of the Ways Based on the 2022 Nature Global Graduate Survey Data
With the continuous expansion of the enrollment of higher education in China,the issue of postgraduate training quality has appeared.Research ability,as the basic task and core goal of postgraduate education,has aroused wide attention and discussion in the field of higher education.Based on the 2022Nature Global Graduate Survey data,this study explores the influence mechanism of supervisor support on postgraduate students'research abilities,with academic enthusiasm and academic satisfaction as mediating variables.The study finds that there are significant correlations between supervisor support,academic enthusiasm,academic satisfaction,and research abilities;supervisor support has significant positive influences on postgraduate students'research abilities;academic satisfaction mediates between supervisor support and research abilities;academic enthusiasm and academic satisfaction play a chain mediating role between supervisor support and research abilities.The effect of supervisor support,academic enthusiasm and academic satisfaction on improving postgraduate students'research abilities should be enhanced from three aspects:strengthening supervisor support to improve the support system;strengthening students'subject consciousness to create a good academic atmosphere;optimizing school management mode so as to pay more attention to students'personal needs.
