Whole-process people's democracy is a distinctive democratic model developed in China through long-term practice in democratic political governance,primarily integrating electoral democracy,consultative democracy,and grassroots democracy to achieve effective governance.The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC)acts as the principal platform for consultative democracy,playing a pivotal role in advancing whole-process people's democracy and improving governance outcomes.The CPPCC is a product of the"two combinations"(integrating the basic tenets of Marxism with China's specific realities and fine traditional culture)and aligns closely with the core principles of whole-process people's democracy,contributing to the enrichment of the democratic discourse system.As an important component of the multi-party cooperation and political consultation system led by the Communist Party of China(CPC),the CPPCC focuses on four primary functions:facilitating connections,conducting consultations,overseeing processes,and fostering unity.Under the comprehensive leadership of the CPC,the CPPCC continually advances the institutionalization,procedural development,and standardization of its structures,establishing a robust system of consultative democracy.This system translates the institutional strengths of whole-process people's democracy into practical outcomes,supporting the continued progress of the Chinese path to modernization.
