Abstract
“Moby Dick”, the magnum opus of Herman Melville, depicts a sea journey of the Pequod led by Captain Ahab, who endeavors to kill the white sperm whale and finally is led to his destiny. The ship wrecks in the end and all the crew members ex-cept Ishmael are drowned. In the novel, Melville, just like many other writers in the western world, uses many biblical prototypes and biblical structures to imply the fate of novel characters and the general development trend of the novel.
