Solubility of DME in choline chloride/ethylene glycol deep eutectic solvent
In order to extend the potential application of deep eutectic solvent, and explore the possibility of the deep eutectic solvent as the absorbent used in the absorption refrigeration cycle, the solubility of the refrigerant dimethyl ether in the choline chloride/ethylene glycol deep eutectic solvent was investigated. The choline chloride/ethylene glycol deep eutectic solvent were prepared at the molar ratio of 1∶3 and 1∶4 and were named as Ethaline(1∶3)and Ethaline(1∶4),respectively.Then,the solubility of dimethyl ether in Ethaline(1∶3)and in Ethaline(1∶4)was measured based on the isochoric saturation method in the temperature range from 283.15 to 343.15 K,and the experimental data were correlated using the non-random two-liquid model. The results show that the average relative deviation between the values calculated from the model and the experimental data is 2.39%and 3.34%for the dimethyl ether/Ethaline(1∶3)and dimethyl ether/Ethaline(1∶4),respectively,and can provide the fundamental phase equilibrium data for the engineering application of the studied mixtures.
