Discharge flow characteristics of concentric and eccentric conical coal hoppers
In order to study the discharge flow characteristics of particles in concentric conical coal hopper and eccentric conical coal hopper.A discrete element model was established in EDEM software to simulate the particle discharge process in hopper with different half-top angles.The mass flow,flow stability and particle velocity at the center line of coal hopper were analyzed.The results show that for the same parameter condition,the mass flow of the eccentric conical coal hopper is greater than the concentric conical coal hopper.The concentric conical hopper has a critical half top angle of mass flow change,while the eccentric conical hopper is not.With the decrease of the half top angle,the mass flow rate of the two coal hopper increase.The discharge stability of eccentric conical coal hopper is better than that of concentric conical coal hopper.When the half top angle of the two coal hopper is greater than 60°,the coefficient of variation increases.The two coal hopper show the integral flow when the half top angle is 0°-40°,and the central flow when the half top angle is greater than 60°.The discharge performance of eccentric conical coal hopper is better than that of concentric conical coal hopper.
