Analysis on magnesium ions content in ferrous sulfate from byproduct of titanium dioxide
In this paper, the content of magnesium ions in ferrous sulfate,a byproduct of titanium dioxide, was determined by ultraviolet spectrophotometry, while acid chromium blue K wad used as indicator, ammonium oxalate was used as precipitant to eliminate the interference of ferrous ions. The experimental results showed that the maximum absorption peak wavelength of Mg-chromium blue K was 540nm,the optimal pH value was 9.5,and the optimal dosage of ammonium oxalate was 10mL.The feasibility of the method was verified by the standard adding recovery method. The content of magnesium ion in ferrous sulfate,a byproduct of titanium dioxide, was determined to be 1.07%.
