Study on the optimization and performance evaluation of a high temperature resistant high density brine drilling fluid system
In view of the problems of complex stratigraphic structure, large burial depth, high temperature, easy to collapse and easy to leakage in the central and western parts of the Tarim Basin, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction were used to analyze the lithology of the area to clearly suit the performance needs of drilling fluids in the region, and then through the optimization of inhibitors, viscosity reducers, plugging agents, lubricants, etc.,a high-temperature and high-density brine drilling fluid system suitable for the region was constructed. The results show that the minerals in this area are mainly clay minerals such as I/Mongolian mixture, with strong water sensitivity, and it is necessary to construct a brine drilling fluid system with strong inhibition, strong salt resistance, density of 2.0g·cm-3 and temperature resistance of 180℃,with the following formula:clear water +1.5%sodium soil+1.5%attapulgite+15%NaCl+5%KCl+1.8%HPL-3+1.0%LV-PAC+4%SMC+6%SPNH+0.5%HPA+2.5%RHJ-3+1.5%KHm+1.5%water-based lubricant type Ⅱ + barite, and its temperature resistance, inhibition and pollution resistance were evaluated,it was concluded that the drilling fluid could well meet the needs of drilling technology in the central and western parts of the Tarim Basin. This study has guiding significance for ensuring the safety and smooth drilling of deep wells and ultra-deep wells in the central and western parts of the Tarim Basin.
