Preparation of copper metallogel and its application in dye adsorption
The gelation abilities of three Schiff base ligands with Cu2+were tested,and it was found that only the ligand DS3 could form a metallogel in DMF/H2O(v∶v=1∶1).However,both of other two ligands(DS1and DS2)could not form any metallogel.The results of FTIR and UV/Vis measurements demonstrated that the coordination interaction between DS3 and Cu2+was the key driving force in the formation of the metallogel.Rheological studies indicated that the energy storage modulus and the yield stress of DS3-Cu metallogel were affected by the concentration,and DS3-Cu xerogel showed selective adsorption capacity for methyl orange in water.
