An analytical method for the rapid determination of hexavalent chromium in soil by inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry was developed.Hexavalent chromium was extracted from soil samples by alkaline mixture oscillating under constant temperature water bath. After cooling and filtering,pH value was adjusted accurately, and then determined by inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometer. When the amount of sample was 2.00g,the limit of detection was 0.09mg·kg-1,the limit of determination was 0.30mg·kg-1,the relative standard deviation RSD(n=6)was less than 2%,the results of the standard material verification experiment were not out of tolerance, and the actual recoveries were 98.50%~105.00%.The method has low detection limit, good repeatability, accuracy and reliability.
