Sulfonic acid functionalized β-cyclodextrin is a novel biomass based solid acid catalyst,which has the advantages of simple preparation method,excellent biocompatibility,significant catalytic effect and convenient recycling.In this paper,the application of sulfonated β-cyclodextrin,β-cyclodextrin propyl sulfonic acid and β-cyclodextrin butyl sulfonic acid in organic synthesis reactions are reviewed in recent years,and the future research focus and development direction are prospected.
