Study on the optimization of extraction process and antioxidant activity of total flavonoids from moxa floss
OBJECTIVE To determine the optimal process for ultrasonic extraction of total flavonoids from moxa floss and the antioxidant activity of the obtained extract.METHODS First of all,the extraction process of total flavonoids in moxa floss was optimized by single factor and orthogonal experiments.Secondly, the antioxidant ability of the obtained extract was evaluated through the clearance experiments of DPPH and OH.RESULTS The optimal conditions for ultrasound-assisted extraction of total flavonoids from moxa floss were as follows:the material-liquid ratio of 1∶60(g∶mL),the extraction temperature of 50C,the ultrasound time of 60min,and the ethanol concentration of 50%.Under this process, the average extraction rate of total flavonoids from moxa floss was 4.30%,and the RSD was 0.40%.Moreover,the antioxidant test showed that flavonoids extracted from moxa floss had a certain antioxidant activity on DPPH and OH,with the IC50(semi-clearing concentration)values were 90.39μg·mL-1 and 185.51 μg·mL-1,respectively.CONCLUSION This method is simple and reproducible, and the obtained extract has antioxidant activity. They provide guidance for the development and application of moxa floss.
