Determination of ethylene sulfite by potentiometric titration
A method for the determination of ethylene sulfite by potentiometric titration was established.Ethylene sulfite was hydrolyzed with sodium hydroxide to produce sodium sulfite, and the sodium sulfite was oxidized to sodium sulfate with iodine at pH 6~8.The excess iodine solution was back titrated with sodium thiosulfate standard solution in DET mode using platinum electrode as the indicator electrode. The recoveries of the sample spiked were 99.5%~100.2%with the relative standard deviations of RSD<0.3%(n=9),and the accuracy and precision of the results met the requirements of analytical testing.
