OBJECTIVE Improving the extraction of polysaccharides and saponins in Astragalus membranaceus by a new ternary compound solvent extraction method.METHODS Extraction of polysaccharides and saponins from Astragalus membranaceus by ternary solvent synergistic ultrasonication,and optimization of the extraction process of polysaccharides and saponins from Astragalus membranaceus by one-way and orthogonal experiments using the combined yield of both as an index.RESULTS The optimal extraction process parameters were as follows:material-liquid ratio of 1∶30(g∶mL),alcohol concentration of 70％,PEG addition of 0.2g·mL-1,and under these extraction conditions,the polysaccharide yield was 20.52％and the saponin yield was 6.52％.CONCLUSION Ternary composite solvent extraction process can improve the combined extraction of Astragalus polysaccharides and saponins.
