CO2/propylene oxide copolymerization catalyzed by metal-doped DMC
Poly(ether carbonate)polyol is a high-value chemical product synthesized by CO2 and propylene oxide copolymerization.Double metal cyanide catalysts(DMC)are commonly used in industry.Doping metals into DMC catalysts can improve its activity, selectivity, and increase the amount of fixed CO2.Three metal doped catalysts,Fe,Ni,and Cr,are synthesized and characterized. The results show that the conversion rate of Fe doped DMC catalyst is as high as 93%,the mass fraction of by-product cyclic carbonate is as low as 8.5%,and the CO2 fixation amount is as high as 18%.The successful preparation of this catalyst provides a novel catalyst for the copolymerization reaction of CO2 and propylene oxide.
