Study on the factors influencing the generation of natural gas hydrates
Studying the influencing factors of hydrate formation can help predict the risk of hydrate formation in pipelines and develop corresponding pipeline management strategies. The influence of different components and inhibitors on the process of hydrate formation is studied using PVTsim software. The results indicate that the influence of nitrogen and carbon dioxide on the formation of natural gas hydrates is negligible.Hydrogen sulfide has a promoting effect on the formation of natural gas hydrates, increasing the risk of on-site hydrate blockage accidents. For the production and treatment of high sulfur natural gas, attention should be paid to the operation of process parts such as throttling and compression. As the mass fractions of methanol and ethylene glycol increase, the critical formation pressure of natural gas hydrates increases, and the operating range of hydrate formation is significantly reduced, which can effectively inhibit the formation of natural gas hydrates.
