Sponge city,which means a city that can"absorb"and"release"water like a sponge.It can prevent flood;repair the ecological environment and make the city form an interconnected ecological circle by building water cycle system inside the city.As one of the important measures of sponge city construction,roof greening accounts for about one third of the sponge city projects.Therefore,the roof greening,which is a key construction,is very important for reducing peak flow of raining and protecting ecological environment.From the perspective of sponge city,discusses the definition,technology and means of roof greening,and puts forward some application under the geographical and climatic conditions of northeast China,which aim to develop the roof greening in the northeast China better and faster.
