To explore effective nursing interventions for elderly patients with hypertension and depression.86 elderly patients with hypertension and depression who were hospitalized in our hospital from January 2022 to June 2022 were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into an intervention group and a control group based on their respective wards using a random grouping method.The control group patients used conventional nurs-ing methods,while the intervention group patients mainly used mindfulness cognitive therapy on the basis of the con-trol group patients.Compare the Self Rating Depression Scale(SDS)scores of two groups of patients before and af-ter receiving nursing intervention.Before nursing intervention,there was no statistically significant difference in SDS scores between the two groups of patients(P＞0.05);After nursing intervention,the SDS score of the intervention group patients was better than that of the control group patients,and there was a statistical difference(P＜0.05).Positive cognitive therapy can effectively control blood pressure changes,improve depressive mood,and improve quality of life in patients with elderly hypertension and depression,and has good clinical effects.
