A Preliminary Study on the Basic Problems of Yellow River Culture
Yellow River culture refers to the sum of material culture,spiritual culture,and institutional culture that took place in the ancient and modern Yellow River basin.There are two aspects worthy of attention,namely,the concept of"Great Yellow River"and"Great Yellow River Culture".The Yellow River culture has roughly experi-enced five stages:germination,formation,prosperity,decline and revival.The main characteristics of the Yellow River culture represent its own nature such as the root,the stem,the system,the integration and the essence.When studying the Yellow River culture,it is necessary to grasp the relationship among all the regional cultures of Yellow River,grasp the relationship between the Yellow River culture and the central plain culture,the Chinese civiliza-tion,&the Yellow Emperor culture,and grasp the similarities and differences between the Yellow River culture and the Yangtze River culture.The core of the Yellow River culture is the capital culture,its foundation is the farming culture,and its soul is the ideological culture.The contemporary value of the Yellow River culture is embodied in the harmonious spirit of the unity of man and nature,the spirit of striving for self-improvement,the spirit of innova-tion,and the spirit of all-embracing and inclusiveness.
