The Yellow River runs through the east and west of China,and in its middle and lower reaches,forms a fertile alluvial plain,which becomes a natural cradle of civilization with its superior climatic conditions.Since 600,000 years ago,the ancient humans,represented by the Lantian Man,lived in the fertile land of the Yellow River basin,and gradually mastered the technology of crop planting in their living.From their nomadic life to settlement,they gradually developed the splendid farming civilization.In the long-term practice of agricultural production,the ancient Chinese people continuously inherited and summarized their farming experience.While developing and utili-zing the natural resources,they also recognized the importance of protecting nature,and formed the concept of the harmonious development between man and nature in their production,which has considerable guiding significance for modern agricultural civilization.We should actively absorb the beneficial factors of the agricultural civilization in the Yellow River basin and promote the further development of modern agricultural civilization.
