Marxist Thought on the Prevention,Reduction,and Relief of Disasters and Its Development in China in the New Era
Marx and Engels,concerned about the survival and development of human beings,attached great im-portance to the problem of disaster,and founded the Marxist thought on the prevention,reduction,and relief of disas-ters.The basic content of Marxist thought on the prevention,reduction,and relief of disasters includes three aspects:the generative theory on the two forms of disaster—the natural disasters and the disasters caused by human beings,the theory on the influence of disasters—how the disasters threaten the survival and development of human beings and the social stability,and the theory on the disaster response—how to correctly recognize the law of nature and scientifically give full play to the human initiative.Chinese communists,guided by Marxism,put people's lives and interests first,and regard the prevention,reduction,and relief of disasters as an important task in governance.They continuously deepen their understanding of the law in natural disasters,put forward a series of new ideas and meas-ures on the prevention,reduction,and relief of disasters,and promote the development of Marxist thought on the pre-vention,reduction,and relief of disasters in China in the new era.
