The so-called"crisis of humanities"is the crisis of the survival of humanities,which is"the study of man"taking the form of the disciplines of literature,history,philosophy and art.The cause of China's current crisis of humanities,at the macro level,is the rigid adherence to the return of traditional concepts and the lack or even rejection of international humanistic exchanges and interactions.As far as the academic circles and their management thinking are concerned,the crisis is caused by emphasis on"skills"over"academic thinking",emphasis on function over foundation,emphasis on"useful use"over"useless use",and prevalent utilitarian thinking.In terms of the organizational structure of humanities and social science research projects,emphasis is placed on"large-scale team style operations"while neglecting"individual meticulous work",resulting in insufficient supply of profound academic innovation.As far as the academic evaluation system is concerned,the crisis is triggered by the dominant formal quantitative evaluation and the absence of the intrinsic qualitative evaluation.In order to reverse the situation of the humanistic crisis,the academic journal community is naturally duty-bound,should give up skills for studies,return to the truth,respect tradition and create prestigious journals,give priority to peer review and qualitative evaluation.
