In the late Ming Dynasty,Fujian literati gardens were mainly concentrated in Fuzhou,Quanzhou,and Zhangzhou,with natural landscape gardens as the mainstream type,among which Shicang Garden was particularly distinctive.By comparing with Suzhou gardens,Fujian literati gardens in the late Ming Dynasty showcased the aesthetic characteristics of natural craftsmanship with their larger size and the concept of using less manual labor.From both internal and external perspectives,the large scale is one of the important reasons for its abandonment in the process of social development.Fujian literati gardens are an important component of China's long-standing and rich garden culture.
