Taking the internet buzzwords related to"guo"as an example,we can conduct an in-depth analysis of its word-formation mechanism,and find that the generating methodology of the new words and phrases mainly relies on three mechanisms:New meanings of old words,variation in word-formation,analogy and innovation.The mechanisms of the word-formation,which have emerged in ancient Chinese,continue to this day."New meanings of old words"are actually the product of"growth"accompanying the"reproduction"of traditional language."Variation in word-formation"and"analogy and innovation"are"recombination or variation"of traditional word-formation materials directly or indirectly influenced by technology and human factors.This"variation"is the"struggle for survival"between traditional language and network language,as well as the"natural selection"of traditional language facing new things.
