Synthesis of Intumescent Flame Retardant, a Polymer ofPhosphoric Acid-pentaerythritol-melamine, and its Application in PP
The synthetic conditions and intumescent effect of phosphoric acid-pentaerythritol-melamine polymer were studied. Fire retardance of PP was studied by means of testing oxygen index and horizontal flammability. The results showed: that the intumescent effect is affected by the composition of fire retardant. The fire retardance of PP is increased remarkably as the intumescent effect and phosphorus content increase.
