Energy safety is one of the utmost important parts for economic and social development.In order to attain the sustainable development,we need to gradually reduce the utilization of fossil fuels by deep utilization of crude oil,clean conversion of coal and efficient utilization of natural gas,along with the development of renewable biomass energy and other types of energy,such as solar,wind and hydrogen.These technologies are closely related to catalytic chemistry and new catalytic materials.Therefore,catalytic chemistry will play an important role to safeguard China's energy security in the near future.
