Determination of Polyvinylpyrrolidone by Gel Chromatography
A gel chromatography-ultraviolet method for determining polyvinylpyrrolidone content was established, and it was proved to possess good exclusive feasibility. The detection wavelength is 205 nm on a polymer gel column with 0.1 mol/L sodium chloride as mobile phase and acetonitrile(7∶3,V∶V)as mobile phase. The mass concentration of polyvinylpyrrolidone shows a good linear relationship with peak area in the range of 0.1~1.5 mg/mL,and the linear correlation coefficient is 0.999 9.The recoveries are 99.3%~102.0%and relative standard deviation(RSD)is 0.35%~0.81%at high, medium and low concentrations, which can meet the determination requirements with good accuracy. This established gel chromatography method is accurate, simple and suitable for the determination of polyvinylpyrrolidone in different applications.
