Study on Volume Properties of Electrolytes in Manganese-Based Flow Batteries
Volume properties are important thermodynamic parameters of manganese-based flow battery(MFB)electrolytes, which are used to explain complex ionic interactions. In this study, the density of MnS04 aqueous solution was measured at concentrations from 0.5~3.0 mol/kg with a 283.15~318.15 K temperature range.Several thermodynamic data and weak molecular interactions of MnSO4 solution were obtained.Pitzer's volume parametersβ(0)VMX,β(1)VMX,and CVMx were obtained by the Pitzer electrolyte thermodynamic model of apparent molar volume. The correlation coefficient between calculational and experimental values reached 0.988.This comprehensive analysis provides theoretical support to explain ion interaction mechanisms and optimize electrolyte compositions to enhance MFB performance.
