Wu Zhengkai:A Master Chemist with His Country in Mind
Prof.Wu Zhengkai(1913～2007)was a renowned physical chemist and chemical educator in China,one of the founders of the atomic energy industry,molecular spectroscopy and radiochemistry.In the field of scientific research,he organized and led the simple production of uranium hexafluoride,the development of separation membranes,the construction of China's first gaseous diffusion uranium enrichment plant,and led and participated in the preparation of 100-curie-grade curium-242(242Cm),which filled the gaps in the domestic preparation of super-plutonium elements at that time;in the field of education,he took part in the preparation of the textbook of"Structure of Matter",and was one of the founding fathers of radiochemistry and molecular spectroscopy.In the field of education,he participated in the preparation of the textbook of"Structure of Matter",cultivated a large number of outstanding talents for China with the attitude of being a ladder for others,and actively participated in the construction of colleges and universities.
