Study on preparation and performance of lightweight epoxy glass fiber composites
By introducing hollow glass microspheres into epoxy resin,and compositing with glass fiber cloth,the lightweight,thinning and high-strength composites were prepared.The density,cross section morphology,mechanical performance and dielectric performance of the materials were analyzed using density balance,scanning electron microscope,universal tensile strength machine and network analyzer,etc.The results showed that with the increase of the ratio of hollow glass microspheres,the density of the composites gradually decreased,and when m(hollow glass microspheres)∶m(epoxy resin)was 0.4,the density of the composites was 0.98 g/cm3;when m(hollow glass microspheres)∶m(epoxy resin)was greater than 0.4,the porosity of the composites increased significantly,and the water absorption rate began to increase significantly;with the increase of the ratio of hollow glass microspheres,the bending and tensile performance of the composites gradually decreased,and when m(hollow glass microspheres):m(epoxy resin)was 0.8,the bending strength decreased by 65.1%,and the tensile strength decreased by 64.4%;the hollow glass microspheres could effectively reduce the dielectric constant of the composites.
