Observation on Therapeutic Effect of Ganmai Dazao Decoction Combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia on Insomnia Comorbid with Depression
Objective:To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of Ganmai Dazao Decoction in conjunction with Cognitive Behav-ioral Therapy for Insomnia(CBT-I)in the treatment of insomnia coexisting with depression, aiming to provide a novel clinical inter-vention for the condition. Methods:A total of 110 patients with comorbid depression and insomnia, admitted to a mental health cen-ter,were randomly allocated into either an observation group or a control group, with 55 cases in each. The control group received standard Western medication, whereas the observation group was administered Ganmai Dazao Decoction in combination with CBT-I for a duration of 6 weeks. The differences in Hamilton Depression Rating Scale-17(HAMD-17),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SERS)scores between the two groups were analyzed. Results:The observation group exhibited significantly lower PSQI and SERS scores compared to the control group(P<0.01).Additionally,the PSQI score,HAMD score, and SERS score in the observation group were all reduced following the intervention when compared to baseline(P<0.01).At the conclusion of the intervention, the control group showed a decrease in the total PSQI and HAMD scores(P<0.01 or P<0.05),and an increase in the SERS score(P<0.01).Conclusion:Ganmai Dazao Decoction,in synergy with CBT-I,demonstrates a notable clinical effect on insomnia complicated by depression, providing sustained relief from depressive symptoms and enhancement of sleep quality, with high safety profiles. This regimen merits broader application in clinical settings.
