Gansu Province,with its complex natural geographical landscape and diverse climate types,has fostered a rich biodiversity.However,knowledge about large ascomycetes in this region is limited,and no systematic report has been produced.This article reviews the available literature on large ascomycetes in Gansu Province.Utilizing the latest classification system and scientific names from the Index Fungorum,a systematic verification and revision of 180 species of large ascomycetes in Gansu Province is conducted.These species are categorized into 5 classes,12 orders,38 families,and 80 genera.Of these,7 species are coprophilous,54 are saprophytic,107 are terricolous,18 are parasitic,and 10 are symbiotic.Additionally,44 species are edible,26 have medicinal properties,and 11 are toxic.The distribution of these large ascomycetes is primarily concentrated in cities and prefectures such as Longnan,Gannan,Linxia,and Wuwei.This article provides a preliminary clarification of the resources and distribution of large ascomycetes in Gansu Province,laying the foundation for the protection and utilization of the germplasm resources of large ascomycetes in the region.
