A Brief Discussion on the Westbound Literature in Ancient Hexi Corridor
The ancient Hexi Corridor is located at the throat of the Silk Road.It has witnessed an unceasing flow of people traveling from the east to the west for thousands of years. This resulted in the formation of a renowned route known as"Longyou-Hexi-Western Regions"route.Where there is a road, there is poetry.By connecting poetry through the roads, and highlighting the roads through poetry,a unique style of literature has emerged in the westward journey, with po-etry playing the most significant role.In Chinese history, three peaks of westbound literary development occurred during the Five Liang Period,Tang Dynasty, and Ming-Qing Dynasty. The basic cultural characteristics include the inheritance of root-seeking literature, the praise of heroism and martial spirit, the sublimation of the patriotism of literature, the emer-gence of new voices in exile literature, the unity of contradictions between"misreading"and"correction"and the self-awareness of literature. Its poetic aesthetic features include the majestic and magnificent beauty of"the aid of rivers and mountains",the historical value of poetry, the attributes of corridor literature and the emotional journey of rough literati. The study of the"literary road"has gradually become an academic growth point. In the redrawn map of Chinese literature, the literature of the westbound along the Hexi corridor should be given its right position.
