A Study on the Painting Language of the Murals,Bricks,Horses,Shooting and Hunting Pictures in Gaotai Tomb,Hexi Corridor
A significant number of murals were unearthed from a tomb near Camel City in Gaotai County,Hexi Corridor.The Five-Horse Shooting and Hunting mural showcases a progressive arrangement in composition and technique,with concise and dynamic use of color that creates a vivid and layered visual effect.The emphasis on the interplay of virtual and real lines,as well as the directional application of strokes,effectively depicts objects while conveying emotions.This paper analyzes the mural through fundamental elements of painting,such as composition,color,and line,offering insights for modern artists on innovat-ing traditional painting techniques while preserving its heritage.
