The epitaphs in the Ming Zhitang Collection of Song Dynasty Stele Inscriptions offer valuable insights into the folk life and human geography of the Fuzhou area during the Song Dynasty.However,due to the lower craftsmanship of folk carv-ings or extensive use of stone,certain texts are difficult to interpret and are often marked as"□."By analyzing rubbings,these obscured characters can be deciphered based on their remaining strokes,stylistic features,context,and related knowledge of lit-erature and history.This article supplements the interpretation of certain"□"entries,aiming to enhance the usability of this ma-terial and maximize its academic and practical value.
