Since the beginning of the new century,a series of outstanding works have emerged in Shandong's literary cir-cles,shaping the image of local elders,exploring their narratives,and constructing a culture centered around them.These works primarily focus on topics such as participating in and promoting rural governance modernization,advancing rural economic devel-opment,preserving and inheriting traditional Chinese culture and ethical values,and promoting folk culture and civilized rural customs.The portrayal of local elders by Shandong writers has not only enriched the connotation of Shandong literature but also in-jected new vitality into the inheritance and development of local elders'culture.Furthermore,these writings have endowed the modern transformation of rural society with profound significance.This reflects contemporary Chinese writers'deep engagement with how literature can harness the strength of local elders,cultivate their culture,and accelerate the modernization of China through literary means.
