Research progress of Nafion proton exchange membrane modification
Proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC)is an efficient energy conversion device that can directly convert chemical energy into electrical energy,it has high conversion efficiency and fast start-up,therefore it is widely used in the fields of transportation and portable power supply systems.Proton exchange membrane(PEM)is one of the key materials for PEMFC.At present,Nafion membrane invented by DuPont in the United States is widely used as a proton exchange membrane, but it is limited by its high cost, low proton conductivity under low humidity, and high methanol permeability.Researchers have carried out a large number of modification studies to overcome these shortcomings. This review systematically summarizes the research progress of Nafion membranes modified by inorganic, organic materials with different structural compositions, and through specific examples, the properties and performances of various types of modified Nafion membranes are introduced in detail, including proton conductivity, fuel permeability, mechanical strength, etc. Finally, the development direction and the future prospects of the modified Nafion membrane are reviewed, that provide reference and reference for research in related fields.
