Preparation and performance study of Mg-Al series flame-retardant magnesium alloys
The optimal content of Ca element in Mg-Al series alloys was explored by designing a series of gradient experiments with different Ca contents.Through mechanical performance and flame retardancy tests,it is found that the addition of Ca element improves both the tensile strength and the specified non-proportional strength of the Mg-Al series alloys, but significantly reduces the elongation after fracture. The Mg-Al series alloys with Ca addition exhibit better flame retardancy compared to those without Ca.The Mg-Al series alloys with added Ca and Y elements demonstrate excellent flame retardancy in the 1 050℃flame gun test, and their tensile strength and specified non-proportional strength are significantly enhanced.
