A Study on the Proportioning and Performance of Alcohol and Heavy Oil Blended Fuel for Marine Boilers
Faced with the actual needs of maritime transportation,a study on the actual performance of mixed fuels with different ratios of alco-hol and heavy oil is carried out.The methanol, ethanol, butanol, and pentanol are used as the blended fuels, and they are blended with regular diesel and biodiesel in different ratios to form blended fuels;with a marine boiler as the target, different load conditions are set to analyze the performance of blended heavy oil fuels. The research content includes performance analysis of marine boilers, combustion characteristics analysis, and particulate matter emission analysis.By analyzing the performance of marine boilers, the thermal efficiency and fuel consumption rate of fuels can be understood, and the particulate matter emissions of fuels with different ratios of alcohol are analyzed. The results show that when the boiler uses alcohol mixed fu-el,the heat release rate of butanol mixed fuel is relatively high, and the combustion duration is lower compared to ordinary diesel.Mixed fuels with different ratios of alcohol to heavy oil can generate different types of particles during combustion. When the ratio of alcohol to heavy oil is between 2%and 10%,a small amount of particles can be generated, and the particle emissions gradually decrease with the increase of ratio of alcohol to heavy oil.Compared to ordinary diesel fuel, blended heavy oil fuel with alcohol can reduce the release of particulate matter.
