Application of traditional Chinese medicine constitution identification in community nursing intervention in the patients with mild cognitive impairment
Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of community nursing intervention based on traditional Chinese medicine constitution identification in the patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI).Methods 64 patients with MCI under the jurisdiction of chronic disease management were randomly assigned to the observation group and the control group,with 32 patients in each group.The control group were received routine chronic disease management based on standard health records,while the observation group were received community nursing intervention guided by traditional Chinese medicine constitution identification,including guidance on nourishment,cognitive function training,dietary intervention,exercise intervention,safety care,and family support.After a 2-year intervention,cognitive function,early treatment compliance,and the effectiveness of community nursing intervention were assessed using the activities of daily living scale(ADL)and the mini-mental state examination(MMSE).Results Following the intervention,the scores of constitution,daily life abilities,memory,and recall in the observation group compared to the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The observation group exhibited a notable improvement in early treatment compliance,with a gradual shift towards a balanced constitution,and higher scores than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Community nursing intervention based on traditional Chinese medicine constitution identification effectively enhances cognitive function in MCI patients,plays a positive role in delayes the progression of MCI and improving the quality of life for patients.
