Using FLUENT,a two-dimensional numerical wave flume simulation was conducted to study the hydrodynamic characteristics of multiple rows of horizontal plates under the action of a solitary wave.First,the accuracy of the numerical model in handling the interaction between the solitary wave and horizontal plates was verified by comparing with experimental results.Then,the effects of parameters such as relative wave height,plate width,relative plate spacing,and relative submergence depth on the wave dissipation performance of multiple rows of horizontal plates were analyzed.The wave dissipation mechanism of the multiple rows of horizontal plates structure was discussed by analyzing the flow field and vorticity field.The study shows that when the relative plate spacing j/B is in the range of 0.02 to 0.10,the wave dissipation effect of multiple rows of horizontal plates is the best,and it is better than that of a single row of horizontal plates.The multiple rows of horizontal plates provide space for water exchange and reduce the structural load,and they have good wave dissipation ability while reducing the construction materials.
