比较视域下《艾青诗选》英译本的国族形象建构

摘要
20世纪80年代初,中国外文出版社出版了由艾青本人编订的英文译本《艾青诗选》.与艾青作品的其它海外译本相比,《艾青诗选》具有诗歌数量多、覆盖面广等优势.《艾青诗选》以"人民性"为主题,向世界传递自强不息、爱好和平的东方之声,并由此建构了以下三类国族形象:救亡视域下国族形象的雏形——觉醒的东方雄狮;发展语境下国族形象的延申——坚定的和平使者;共同体意识影响下国族形象的发展——自信的文化传承者.《艾青诗选》不仅反映了中华民族和中国人民的苦难与斗争、艰辛与希望,还影响了中外读者对艾青诗歌中国族形象的接受与理解.
Abstract
In the early 1980s,China Foreign Languages Publishing House published the English translation of AI QING Selected Poems compiled by Ai Qing himself.Compared with other overseas translations of Ai Qing's works,AI QING Selected Poems has the advantag-es of large number and wide coverage of poetry.With the theme of"people's nature,"AI QING Selected Poems conveys to the world the voice of the East that is self-improvement and peace-loving,and thus constructs the evolution of the following three types of national images:the prototype of the national image from the perspective of national salvation-the awakened Oriental lion;the extension of the national image in the context of development,a firm messenger of peace;the development of national image under the influence of com-munity consciousness-confident cultural inheritor.This translation not only reflects the suffering and struggle,hardship and hope of the Chinese nation and the Chinese people,but also affects the acceptance and understanding of the national image of Ai Qing's poetry by Chinese and foreign readers.
