Dao zi(稻子)and Dao gu(稻谷)are the basic words in Chinese.Based on a large number of dialect questionnaires and some existing dialect literature,we obtained a relatively evenly distributed and dense dialect corpus.This paper uses the analytical methods of geographical linguistics,mapping the morphological distribution of dialects,to analyze the morphological distribution of the two meanings of Dao zi and Dao gu in Chinese dialects.The root forms of the meaning of Dao zi mainly include Dao(稻),Gu(谷),He(禾)and Zhou(粙).The root forms of the meaning of Dao gu mainly include Dao,Gu and Su(粟).And there are three kinds of word form relations between the meanings of Dao zi and Dao gu,the northern dialects usually have the same word forms or roots,however,as the main rice producing area and the main consumption area,the southern dialects area generally uses different roots.
