Research Progress of Lectin Receptor-like Kinases Involved in Plant Development
Lectin receptor-like kinases(LecRLKs)are a subset of receptor-like kinases(RLKs)found in higher plants, playing di-verse roles in plant growth, development, and stress response mechanisms.Structurally,LecRLKs are characterized by extracellular lectin domains, transmembrane segments, and kinase domains.Classifying LecRLKs based on the diversity of their lectin domains, they are divided into three distinct types:G-type,L-type,and C-type,each evolving independently within their respective subgroups.Re-cent studies have shed light on the involvement of LecRLK family genes in various plant developmental processes, such as seed germi-nation,stature regulation, leaf and stem growth, organogenesis, and reproductive development. This underscores the intimate connection between LecRLKs and plant development. This article presents an overview of the structure and classification of lectin receptor-like kinases, emphasizing their pivotal roles in plant development.Through elucidating the functions of LecRLKs in plant growth processes, this review aims to enhance our comprehension of these kinases'contributions to plant development and offer a theoretical foundation for leveraging this knowledge in agricultural practices and crop enhancement programs.
