On the Influence of Woolf on Wang Zengqi's Early Novel Writing
Wang Zengqi's early novels were deeply influenced by Woolf. The liberal and open academic environment of Southwest United University provided him with the possibility of accepting Woolfs influence, and the correspondence between his creative ideas and Woolfs novels made Wang Zengqi self-conscious of studying modernism.Wang Zengqi's creation of stream-of-consciousness novels using inner monologue, free association, and temporal montage is a pioneer in the development of Chinese literature.Based on Woolfs stream-of-consciousness novels,Wang Zengqi incorporates Chinese elements into his stylistic form and advocates"harmonious beauty"in his aesthetic pursuit, creating a modernist novel with local characteristics.
