In addition to his real name,Pan Yue was also known by the more widely recognized name"Pan An",which,to some extent,was even more influential than his real name.According to the available documents,"Pan An"already appeared at the latest in the first year of Guangde(763),the year when Du Fu composed The Bottom of the Flowers.The acceptance of"Pan An"is reflected in different literary genres.Specificallg,in the Tang and Song dynasties,the influence of elegant literature was greater,while in the Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties,popular literature became the main ground for the acceptance of"Pan An".Compared with the former,the influence of popular literature is more far-reaching,making"Pan An"almost become a national collective unconscious.
