Research on the Concept and Practice of Cultivating Secondary School Teachers'Service-Learning Capabilities:A Case Study of the"Hong Kong Capacity Building Scheme for Secondary School Teachers"
Service-learning is an experiential learning pedagogy that combines social service with academic study,bringing a profound paradigm shift to the theory and practice of secondary education.The enhancement of teachers'capabilities is crucial for the effective implementation of service-learning.Using the"Hong Kong Capacity Building Scheme for Secondary School Teachers"as a case study,this study first analyzes the concept of service-learning and the practical challenges in implementing it within secondary education.It then examines how the application of service-learning in secondary schools can be improved through building teachers'capabilities in service-learning.The findings show that systematic teacher training and guidance on curriculum development support secondary schools in integrating service-learning into the curriculum,thereby helping achieve students'holistic development.
