An Analysis of Chinese Character Writing Errors by Thai Students with Advanced Chinese Levels:Based on the HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus
In Chinese language education, the teaching of Chinese characters has always been the most easi-ly overlooked part.Even learners who have reached a higher level of Chinese language proficiency may encounter many errors in the process of writing Chinese characters. The article takes Thai students with advanced Chinese proficiency as the research subjects and analyzes the Chinese character writing errors that occur in their compositions from the HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus. It is found that their writing errors are mainly caused by font substitution.Especially the phenomenon of confusion between complexity and simplicity accounts for a large part of it,besides the addition and subtraction of strokes, confusion of the position of point strokes, and component replacement.Based on the investigation during my teaching period in Thailand, some corrective measures have been proposed from a teaching perspective.
